Down on the Farm – Mom Mom Mom — The Gnomestead Tapestry

A Gnomestead Tapestry Short.

A Down on the Farm story: Mom Mom Mom!

To all the Mothers out there, I wish you a “Happy Mother’s Day!” Some of us are still fortunate enough to have our mothers with us. We can give them a call or even give them a hug. Cherish them while you can. If not, I hope you can fondly recall the good times with them.

Hoping you enjoy this “Gnomestead Tapestry” School Daze posting. Feel free to share it around!

Thanks!

Have a Great Easter Weekend!

Easter 2016I hope you have the chance to make the Easter Holiday a great weekend for you and your family! No matter what your beliefs, for most of us there is a chance to make time for family.

I think it is a time to celebrate rebirth, and to remember the sacrifices made for us.

Of course it is Spring only here in the Northern Hemisphere and even then in the temperate zones. That makes it easier to see rebirth happening across the land. But one can look for it and celebrate it all over the World.

Not all entertainment need be fast, furious, digital, or electronic. It can be as quiet as sharing a bit of time with your family.

With all the talk about the New Horizons space probe, it might be a great time to go out as a family stargazing. Of course a bit of digital technology might help you with identifying the stars, planets, and constellations. Young children might have problems with the patience to see meteors or satellites in the heavens, but they will learn with a bit of practice to just sit and watch.

I hope you enjoy these and I would really appreciate your spreading the word. My stories are spread by word-of-mouth so this is the way that others might also see them.

Do Something Simple — Wheel Tales of Willow City

Not long ago I was standing at the kitchen counter peeling potatoes and I started thinking about how my Mother had done just this task, and Grandma… and how many generations back on both Mom and Dad’s sides of the family. There is a sort of connection there. I think that it can be good to just “do something simple” and feel that connection with those who have gone before us.

This strip* was published before as “Wheel Tales of We’ll Make Cents” but we thought it would be better to publish more independently — hence the change in venue and name to “Wheel Tales of Willow City”.

We'll Make CentsWe’ll Make Cents” is an organization that helps support a number of not-for-profit causes which might get overlooked. Why not pop over and give them a visit.

Donations are actually hard to come by for Charities and other not-for-profit organizations. Consider what you might be able to donate. It might be a good time to clean that closet, attic, cellar, shed, or garage! You might have someone else’s next treasured possession. Perhaps you don’t live near Auckland and We’ll Make Cents, but there are people in need everywhere!
