A Regular

Cpt George: Greetings Captain George, you want the usual, Rum?
Bar Maid: No Darlin’, I want whiskey, Red-Eye! Leave the bottle.
Scot: Why’s the guy in the pirate hat so blue?
Gnorman: Oh, that’s Captain George. Every month he comes into town and…
Gnorman: …asks the smith if something called a “canon” has been invented yet.
Barkeep: It seems it is important for a pirate ship to have canons.

I wonder where Captain George is from? The West Indies? The Orient? Africa? Penzance? Saskatchewan? …

From start to end I’m worth more than a picture.
I cast my spell on student, scholar, and author.
Black on white or carved in stone, the truth I can tell.
All the same I can tell a lie equally well..
Losing me might render you speechless.
Don’t hold your tongue and it will effect you less.

What am I?

I am “The Alphabet”.

Status

During the hiatus between January 2017 and July 2017 I spent a couple of months where publishing weekly comics wasn’t possible due to health reasons. I took some of this time to consider the direction the strips would take and though I still haven’t published any instalments of “Space Trek” or “Wheel Tales of Willow City” I have been able to produce two cartoons for “The Gnomestead Tapestry”.

Each of these two cartoons have been riddles. During my hiatus I decided to publish some classic riddles in the Tapestry. Some will be my take on historic ones like “The Riddle of the Sphinx” — and others will be completely original like the current one in “Picture This!”
